See live Kiwi in Cathedral Square! Located in the centre of Christchurch, Southern Encounter Aquarium & Kiwi House enables visitors to see what lurks beneath the South Island's waterways. The attraction also showcases some of New Zealand's most unique native land dwelling creatures including Kiwi, Tuatara and native reptiles. Observe Sharks, Rays, massive Eels and a range of interesting creatures such as Seahorses, Octopus and Crayfish. Stimulate your senses and investigate a range of invertebrates in the Touch Tank. Scheduled fish feeds occur throughout the day (at 3pm an aquarist feeds fish in the main marine display) and Kiwi Tours occur from 10.30am daily. Explore our fantastic wildlife themed gift shop.
